Artwork

There are around 200 paintings in this collection, all of which are available for sale as signed limited edition prints and greeting cards, and the most popular as postcards. The originals are also for sale. The paintings can be viewed starting on this page: The Gallery.

The paintings of Cambridge were created in my studios from 2002 onwards, from hundreds of photos and sketches I have made around the city. I am currently working on a series of watercolours of the most popular views in Cambridge, as well as starting to go nationwide with my pastels.

The medium used for the majority of the work is soft pastels on pastel paper of various colours.

Sample

The images look different on paper compared to on a computer monitor, so if you are considering buying a print or an original please email if you would like to be sent a postcard-sized version of the print. These samples are returnable. Additionally, I can e-mail you an image slightly larger than those on the website if you would like to see greater detail.

The greeting cards and postcards are not necessarily representative of the prints since they are printed on a different type of card with different inks.

Viewing

top
It is possible to view prints in my home in Cambridge by prior arrangement. I would need to know which ones you want to see in advance as I dont keep every print in every size ready mounted. You get the cost of p&p deducted if you collect the print (see the prices here). My phone number and e-mail address are given above.

Shops

The Parade Gift Shop opposite King's College Chapel stocks nearly all of the prints in the small size. They also have some medium prints, a few mini prints, most of the cards and postcards, and I did the artwork for their new carrier bag.

The Artist

K J Lewis has been using soft pastels since a teenager, with her experience in the medium being built up mainly from life drawing. She has no formal qualifications in 'art' beyond A'level. She has been living near Cambridge for over 10 years since graduating from the university with a degree in Computer Science. She is a prolific woodworker and drystone waller (in the Peak District) and recently gained a degree in Architecture.

She has exhibited work at the Hills Road Annual Professional Artists' Exhibition in Cambridge for the last few years. In 2004 she was selected as a new member of the prestigious Cambridge Drawing Society, and has exhibited work at their annual Summer and Autumn Exhibitions since then.

There is a permanent exhibition of her work in the centre of Cambridge in the gallery at the Parade Gift Shop, 19 King's Parade (opposite the chapel), where around 150 different prints of her pastel paintings are on display.
